Love God by Loving our Neighbour Enemy
5:00 pm to 6:30 pm
No registration required to attend on-site.
Synopsis
There is no other teaching of Christ that fully captures His call to love our neighbours, even our enemies, more than the parable of The Good Samaritan. The selfless actions of the Samaritan in the parable underscores an important lesson that the world—so torn apart by a global pandemic, social unrest, and war—must learn.
Sharing from 2 Chronicles 28:8-15, let us as one Methodist family consider what it means to Love God by Loving Our Enemy.

Synopsis
It is well established that Christianity is an historic faith. Yet increasingly in a context of the ease of information access as well as (mis)information excess, there is a growing apathy to and agnosticism of the importance of history.
Sharing from Deuteronomy 6, the first lecture is an attempt to answer the question: Why bother with history?

Synopsis
There is a richness and depth in historical studies. Yet we are often satisfied with general assumptions.
Sharing from 1 Samuel 7, this second lecture recounts our past with reference to the arrival of the Methodist missionaries in colonial Singapore and the significant impact they bequeathed, and hopefully demonstrates that history may indeed provide us with markers in reminding us, who and why we serve.
